OKtoRun Review Standard

The same checks, in the same order, on every asset we review. This is what an OKtoRun report means.

Independence

OKtoRun is an independent third party. We don’t create, sell or license the content we review, and we don’t earn more by finding more issues. Reviews are done by IP-trained reviewers working to this standard. Reports are written to be shared: with your leadership, legal team, agency, creators or a rights holder.

What we check for

Today: music and creator rights. Coming soon: stock footage, images and AI likeness. Until those checks are added to this standard, our reports don’t cover them.

How we review

Every asset goes through the same checks for music and creator rights, in the same order. An IP-trained reviewer confirms every flag before it reaches you. Software never flags on its own.

Green, yellow and red

RatingMeaning
Green: safeSafe to keep running. No music or rights issue found in what we reviewed.
Yellow: checkCheck it or swap it. A possible issue, such as unclear music source or a license ending soon. Worth fixing or confirming.
Red: fix nowFix it now. A clear issue, such as a commercial song in an ad or content running past its license. Swap, renew or pull.

Records

Every report carries a review ID, the dates of the request and delivery, the number of assets reviewed, issues flagged and issues fixed, and the date each fix was reported. Brands can save it as a PDF.

Limits

We check music and creator rights only; stock footage, images and AI likeness aren’t covered yet. We review what is public or shared with us, at the time of review. A report documents our checks; it isn’t a license, a guarantee against claims, or legal advice. For legal questions, talk to your lawyer.
